This systematic review evaluates the impact of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) on burn wound healing, analyzing data from eight studies involving 471 patients. NPWT has been shown to enhance re-epithelialization, improve graft take rates, and reduce bacterial infections compared to conventional dressings. The findings suggest that NPWT not only accelerates wound healing but also minimizes complications, although results regarding graft take rates vary. Despite significant positive outcomes, further research with larger populations is needed to confirm these benefits and assess the effectiveness of NPWT in conjunction with standard skin grafting techniques.
